CIMB Increases Global Asset Fund Size By 100 Mln Units

story.marketKUALA LUMPUR, June 1 (Bernama) -- CIMB- Principal Asset Management Bhd has raised its Global Asset Spectra Fund size by an additional 100 million units.

In a statement today, its chief executive Noripah Kamso said since its launch last November, over 270 million units have been subscribed against the initial approved fund size of 300 million units.

"The fund's remarkable acceptance is attributed to the fact that it enables investors to diversify their investment into four major asset classes namely equities, commodities, properties and fixed income accross international developed markets," she added.

Noripah said despite showing a slight underperformance to benchmark due to its underweight position in commodities and high cash weighting owing to huge inflows, the fund has improved by gaining 0.7 percent returns in April 2007, outperforming the benchmark by 0.07 percent.
